Now, we’re entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a Quality Assurance Inspection Supervisor to join our team, contributing to the PDW Quality Assurance program. The ideal candidate will thrive working in an innovative and fast-paced work environment, have excellent critical thinking skills, and will play a pivotal role in assuring product conformity to PDW’s end users.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and support the inspection team in daily QA activities, ensuring alignment with company standards and production goals.
- Oversee and perform Receiving, In-Process, Sub-Assembly, and Final Inspections to verify product conformance.
- Ensure outsourced machined components (metal and plastic) meet PDW standards through supplier quality checks, incoming inspection, and documentation review.
- Train inspection staff on quality procedures, use of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM), and interpretation of engineering drawings.
- Track and analyze inspection data, prepare quality reports, and escalate non-conformances while collaborating on corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Partner with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to resolve issues, improve manufacturability, and maintain on-time delivery of quality products.
Requirements
- 3+ years of quality assurance or inspection experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace/defense preferred).
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to coach, train, and motivate a team.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Hands-on experience with inspection of machined components (metal and plastic) and use of precision measurement tools.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical problem-solving skills, and commitment to driving a culture of quality.
- Familiarity with ISO9001/AS9100 standards and quality management systems (QMS); experience supporting internal or external audits a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams and suppliers, both verbally and in writing.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly, with occasional heavier lifting
- Employee must be able to stand, walk, and bend for long periods, as well as push and pull
- Manual dexterity is necessary for performing assembly operations
Work Environment
- Operates primarily in a professional, climate-controlled office, warehouse, manufacturing and shipping environment. At times, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety gloves, goggles, and hearing protection may be required.
- Employee will also work outdoors as applicable, where they may be exposed to the elements, including heat, rain, and cold.
- Standard hours are Monday through Friday 7:00AM to 3:30PM, with occasional overtime as operational needs may require.
- Fast paced environment with moving, packing, and staging shipments
ITAR Requirement
