Now, we’re entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a Cable Assembly Technician whose primarily role is to build cables for the assembly and testing of world-class drones. As a critical member of the PDW team, you will play an active role in the day-to-day manufacturing activities and tasks that result in high-quality products. In this role, you will be expected to focus primarily on cable assemblies while assisting in other areas as requirements change. The ideal candidate will have the ability to thrive in an environment where change and quick response are the rule and not the exception.

What You'll Do

  • Assemble drone cables and harnesses, electro-mechanical sub-systems, and final assemblies as directed using provided tools
  • Use pre-determined work instructions and build processes for assembly
  • Work closely with engineering as assigned by the lead to implement changes and new features
  • Assist with updating work instructions and documentation as needed
  • Service and repair products as necessary
  • Keep drone lead and management aware of issues, problems, and progress
  • Continuous improvement awareness and willingness to help improve processes

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Cable and Electro-Mechanical Assembler working with very small and complex assemblies and connectors
  • A keen eye for detail working with small parts, assemblies, fasteners, and organized
  • Exposure and some experience using MS Office
  • Exposure to or experience in an ISO9001-2015 / AS9100 quality environment
  • Some experience with LEAN principles such as 5S, signage, Kanban, wastes, etc.,
  • Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Past work experience in technology, engineering, and manufacturing environments is preferred

Preferred

  • Solder certification and inspection to IPC J-STD-001 / IPC-A-610 highly desirable.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly, with occasional heavier lifting
  • Employee must be able to stand, walk, and bend for long periods, as well as push, pull, and maneuver carts and packages
  • Manual dexterity is necessary for handling

Work Environment

  • Operates primarily in a professional, climate-controlled office, warehouse, manufacturing and shipping environment. At times, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety gloves, goggles, and hearing protection may be required.
  • Employee may also work where they may be exposed to the elements, including heat, rain, and cold.
  • Standard hours are Monday through Friday 7:00AM to 3:30PM, with occasional overtime as operational needs may require.

In compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) or individuals granted asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
