Company Overview

Performance Drone Works (PDW) builds technologies for the warfighter, by the warfighter. Born out of the Drone Racing League, our roots are competitive, our mindset is tactical, and our mission is clear: deliver purpose-built unmanned systems to those who serve. We are not here to sell vapor; we build and ship real capabilities for real missions.

Now, we’re entering a new phase of growth and are looking for VP of Growth Marketing to join the company. This is a revenue-focused leadership role responsible for building and owning the demand engine from lead generation and partnering on go-to-market initiatives, to sales enablement and product positioning.

You’ll work closely with our CRO, sales team, and CEO to build measurable programs that drive awareness, conversion, and revenue while collaborating with our VP of Brand to make sure everything we execute is on target, modern, and aligned. This is a remote role, however, there is an expectation to be able travel to PDW headquarters in Huntsville, AL at least one week per month.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, implement, and lead PDW’s global marketing strategy to accelerate customer acquisition, retention, and engagement, with a targeted focus on driving growth in defense and law enforcement markets.
  • Own the definition, tracking, and analysis of all key marketing performance metrics aligned with PDW’s operational and strategic objectives; deliver clear, data-driven reporting to stakeholders and executive leadership to ensure full visibility into marketing strategies, execution, and performance against corporate goals.
  • Oversee end-to-end strategy and execution for global product launches, working closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and other key stakeholders to ensure cross-functional alignment, market readiness, impactful positioning, and measurable adoption across target segments.
  • Build and lead a high-performing marketing team in a fast-paced, innovative defense tech environment—driving impactful product marketing, agile go-to-market execution, and full-spectrum marketing coverage from brand to demand.
  • Oversee the development and execution of high-impact co-marketing strategies with partner resellers, ensuring alignment on brand, demand generation, and revenue growth objectives.
  • Lead strategic marketing collaborations with technology partners, guiding joint product launches, integrated campaigns, and thought leadership initiatives to strengthen PDW’s market position and ecosystem influence.
  • Direct marketing support for GTM training and enablement functions, ensuring sales and partner teams are equipped with the messaging, tools, and resources needed to drive adoption and accelerate revenue.
  • Oversee the creation and management of all marketing content across the customer lifecycle—from lead generation to post-sales engagement—ensuring consistent messaging, clear value communication, and measurable impact on revenue and retention.
  • Lead full-funnel demand generation strategy (paid, SEO, email, events, and more) to drive awareness, engagement, and qualified pipeline growth.
  • Oversee lead nurture strategy and marketing operations (Salesforce), including automation workflows, CRM data quality, and seamless lead handoff to sales.
  • Direct the capture and use of customer success stories, case studies, and testimonials to amplify marketing, sales, and PR initiatives.
  • Establish campaign KPIs and oversee ROI analysis, ensuring marketing investments are optimized for maximum impact.
  • Lead product packaging strategy and guide competitive pricing analysis in partnership with Product, Sales, Finance, and the Executive Team to ensure market fit, differentiation, and alignment with PDW’s revenue and growth objectives.
  • Define product tiers, feature sets, and buyer personas to guide positioning, messaging, and targeting for all market segments.
  • Equip sales with pricing frameworks, proposals, and value-based selling tools to accelerate deal velocity and win rates.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience managing programs from concept through execution with a focus on measurable outcomes
  • Demonstrated success partnering closely with sales leadership, including experience supporting a CRO in a high-growth environment
  • Strong brand stewardship with the ability to provide constructive feedback on creative and messaging
