Annual Salary: $18 - $35 per hour PLUS travel stipend (commensurate w/ experience)

About The Role

CareAdvisors is looking for a Community Outreach Associate with a strong background in community engagement or a proven interest in advancing health equity or social justice for underserved and vulnerable communities. In this role, you will support our efforts on the ground and will be an integral part of our community impact strategy. The right candidate will have experience conducting community outreach and wants to serve their communities in an empathetic and culturally competent manner. You must be available for ad hoc community outreach.

Core Responsibilities

  • Available for ad hoc (last minute) Home Visits / Community Engagement events
  • Conduct in-person home visits within designated communities and complete an in-person assessment or enrollment; depending on the participants’ need(s)
  • Conduct in-person outreach at events and provide information on local resources, conduct enrollments, or provide educational social care materials at local community events (some events may occur during the day, evenings, or weekends)
  • Provide resources and requested information regarding the various types of resources available to the community member(s) in a timely manner
  • Provide post-event support as required, which may include following up with participants after the event
  • Able to respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
  • Complete daily data entry and required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Consistently meet goals set by leadership
  • Participate in daily, weekly, monthly team meetings
  • Other tasks as assigned by leadership

Core Requirements

  • Available for ad hoc (last minute) Home Visits / Community Engagement events
  • When needed, able to travel 1-2 hours to complete a visit (travel time is paid)
  • Associate’s degree or commensurate professional work experience
  • Ideally, 2+ years of experience conducting community outreach
  • Able to accommodate a flexible schedule - some events may occur during the day, evenings, or weekends
  • Must have access to a vehicle, proof of insurance and valid driver’s license to perform essential job functions
  • Advanced computer skills and very comfortable learning new technologies
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication & interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual (any language) would be a big plus
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and random drug screenings
  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively
