Shift5 is seeking a 1099 Design Contractor to support our growing design and creative needs, and drive the Shift5 brand forward across all channels and design mediums. We’re looking for a results-oriented, customer-focused, team player with the creativity, expertise, and demonstrated success to help Shift5 continue its rapid growth trajectory.

This is a cross-functional role directly supporting Sales and Marketing and will report directly to the Demand Generation & GTM Operations Manager.

In this role, you will:

  • Create eye-catching visual content, including logos, illustrations, icons, and other graphic elements that connect to audiences in the aviation, defense, and rail industries
  • Develop layouts for various materials, such as brochures, flyers, landing pages, and social media platforms, ensuring an attractive and consistent visual presentation
  • Produce clear and visually compelling slide decks and slick sheets on a range of information technology and cybersecurity issues
  • Assist internal stakeholders by enhancing the visual narrative of slide decks and white papers
  • Develop deliverable templates and processes to promote informative, accurate, and consistent communications
  • Manage adherence and consistency with the Shift5 brand and visual identity across all mediums and channels
  • Identify opportunities to establish and strengthen company branding
  • Provide quality control for client deliverables
  • Other duties as required


  • A bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a related field
  • 2+ years’ experience, with a strong portfolio of work demonstrating design skills
  • Prior experience designing layouts, creating custom icons, and developing data visualizations and a solid grasp of design concepts.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, precision in design work, and the ability to ensure visual consistency.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with clients and stakeholders, interpret briefs, and incorporate feedbac
  • A strong sense of creativity, artistic flair, and the ability to think outside the box to create unique and visually appealing designs
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work efficiently under pressure
  • Proficient in industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • An interest in aviation, cybersecurity, defense technology or B2B/B2G/public sector marketing
  • Must be outcome-oriented and capable of operating in a fast-pace environment
  • Team-oriented, highly motivated with the ability to think independently, take direction, communicate ideas clearly, and meet demands on schedule
