Job Description

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
We are seeking a savvy communications professional for the role of Senior Manager, Communications – DACH Region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), reporting into Director, Communications, EMEA Core Markets. DACH region represents one of LinkedIn’s most important regional markets globally.
The Senior Manager, Communications, DACH will have a very good working knowledge and a strong understanding of the business and media landscape across the DACH region. They will lead, build and execute the external global communications strategy across consumer, B2B and corporate audiences, and cover executive and trust communications portfolios in this region. This includes our owned and earned media programmes and integrated, measurable campaigns that support the company’s business objectives.
The DACH region is a core market for LinkedIn in EMEA, with significant opportunities to keep on strengthening platform usage, and support our members and customers.
We are looking for a strategic self-starter who can work well collaboratively across teams, most closely with international and global Communications teams, senior business stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and an external agency. Demonstrating a proactive approach to communications, with a finger on the pulse of key local trends and challenges impacting the world of work is required to ensure we stay on our front foot and connect how our differentiated tech is accelerating the value we deliver.
Past experience in building trusted and professional relationships with senior business stakeholders, delivering creative and impactful communications campaigns and working as part of a global team is essential.

Responsibilities
- Work with the Core Markets leader, global and international comms partners and local business stakeholders to define LinkedIn’s DACH communications vision, strategy and plan to drive business impact
- Guides and leads team to support elements of communications strategy while developing strategies across a single function in-depth, or several functions at a high level.
- Embeds and champions LinkedIn culture and values throughout strategy, execution, and team experience.
- Be the strategic adviser and provide expert counsel to stakeholders on potential issues and experiences that can impact LinkedIn as a company and with our members and customers
- Guides team to develops briefs and mitigation strategies.
- Build and foster relationships with teams and leadership across LinkedIn and identify new opportunities and processes to expand our communications impact in DACH
- Establishes decision making criteria and principles at the outset and drives the team’s priorities and expectations.
- Act as market expert for local media environment and driving meaningful conversations about LinkedIn that resonate with our members and potential members
- Manage and build relationships with journalists in efforts to build story and brand opportunities for LinkedIn
- Guides team for all external media, influencer, and analyst engagements.
- Develops media relationships and shares best practices in networking and relationship building to support storytelling priorities.
- Manages the long-term communication strategy through understanding media landscape, pitching proactive stories, identifying risks, and monitoring media trends and competitive industry news in partnership with external agencies or vendors.
- Act as market expert for local media environment and driving meaningful conversations about LinkedIn that resonate with our members and potential members
- Partner closely with product, marketing, editorial teams locally and internationally on integrated campaign development and execution
- Drive operational excellence with prioritization and possess a high degree of integrity and sense of confidentiality
- Develop relevant and quality content and messaging
- Determines what channels are most appropriate and meaningful for a story/content and target audience.
- Identify and manage strategic media and speaking opportunities
- Measure, track and report communications impact
- Manage agency relationships and external partners as needed

Basic Qualifications
- 7 + years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related experience, AND 2 + years of experience in External Communications or Employee Communications OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field AND
- 4 + years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related experience, AND 2 + years of experience in External Communications or Employee Communications.
- Fluency in both verbal and written, German and English
- Proven senior stakeholder exposure/management
- Strong understanding of business and media environment, particularly in consumer brands and/or consumer technology brands
- Well-developed media relationships with German media particularly in the tech, HR, marketing trade press, national and emerging media
- Experience in collaborating with different teams throughout the region / globe
- Strong and clear communication and presentation skills to leadership level audiences (able to clearly articulate complex dependencies, solutions and communications strategies)
- Able to drive tactical execution, analyze performance, solve complex problems and drive results
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and unstructured, deadline-oriented environment
