This role can be based in Sunnyvale, CA.

Job Description

We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our team at LinkedIn’s headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA. This role will focus on managing key indirect tax functions, including compliance, reconciliations, planning and related tax matters. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong analytical skills, capable of navigating complex tax issues, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating across functions to support business operations and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage U.S. and Canada indirect tax compliance to ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns and payments
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations for sales & use tax and other non-income tax accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Assist on indirect tax audits and reviews through data collection and research support.
  • Manage US foreign withholding process by reviewing forms and completing related compliance obligations
  • Prepare Digital Services Tax (DST) calculations
  • Provide indirect tax support, including customer invoice and contract inquiries, exemption certificate reviews, and tax determination in accordance with applicable tax regulations.
  • Monitor tax changes and legislative tax updates
    • Perform research and analysis, and apply tax laws to support technical positions related to the Company’s business transactions and clearly communicate and document findings
  • Support the tax technology roadmap, including assistance with testing, ensuring our tax engine is configured properly, and developing reporting requirements
    • Partner with cross functional teams throughout the company to understand the tax impact of business operations and ensure tax needs are identified, considered and communicated.
  • Assist with special tax projects and initiatives as required


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
  • 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting and/or in a high-tech industry


Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification preferred
  • Demonstrated technical strength and knowledge related to indirect tax and accounting
  • Experience with ERP and Tax engines such as Oracle and Vertex strongly desired. Prior exposure to IT systems implementation projects helpful
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft suite products
    • Tax research and accounting skills, including ability to collect, prepare and analyze data and information to reconstruct, detect, support or refute a position and ensure that explanation provided reconciles with the underlying data
  • Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Proven ability to independently manage deadlines across daily responsibilities alongside special projects
  • Demonstrates a proactive, hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership and initiative
  • Team player that cultivates collaboration and leadership throughout the global organization

The pay range for this role is $137,000-$183,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
